Terms of Use

MeltCheck is a free reference tool. These terms exist to make one thing unambiguous: the numbers here are context for your decisions, not offers, appraisals, or advice.

What the numbers are

Melt values are computed from third-party spot prices, published purity constants, and U.S. Mint coin specifications, as documented in the methodology. Coin value bands are editorial retail ranges. Both are provided as-is: they are benchmarks, not quotes, and no buyer is obligated to pay them. Spot prices move continuously; a figure you saw here an hour ago may already be stale.

Not advice, not appraisal

Nothing on this site is financial, investment, or numismatic advice, and photo identification is not an appraisal or authentication. For coins that may be rare or valuable, the site consistently points you to professional grading (PCGS, NGC) and independent price guides — use them before any significant transaction.

Accuracy

We work from documented public sources and correct errors when found (report one via contact). Still, we can't guarantee the site is error-free, and Innomatrix Limited accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of these reference figures. Verify before you transact.

Acceptable use

Don't scrape at volumes that degrade the service, misrepresent MeltCheck outputs as formal appraisals, or use the photo endpoint for anything other than coin identification. Linking to any page, including citing our formulas with attribution, is welcome.

Operator

MeltCheck is operated by Innomatrix Limited, registered in England & Wales, company no. 16188012. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
